Filmmaker Raoul Peck throws a shoe at George Bush….yeah mon!

I just had to post this. Just keep watching the clip and you’ll see it’s totally true and the above title is not a lie, girl guide’s honour 🙂

So, I am super excited about the possibility of seeing Raoul Peck’s latest film Moloch Tropical in TT later this month. I had met the Haitian director many years ago in St Lucia when he had travelled there sometime in 2003 or so when Derek Walcott was trying to raise funds for his film ” Ti Jean and his Brothers.” Up in the mountain, with a Piton filled sunset and an en bas gorge band playing their hearts away, my interest in his work developed and I have been an avid fan since. So anyway, now I am even more enamoured. Take a look at this clip from an interview at the Sydney Film Festival, and I must admit that shoe throwing and all, I am happy our region’s filmmakers are tackling the tough issues, by any means necessary 🙂
